Q:
Does the price include meals? Can you provide them? |
| |
A:
Yes. We include breakfast in all our adventures.
Lunch and dinner are left to your discretion. We
will however recommend the best local restaurants.
The choice will be yours. |
| |
|
| 4) |
Q: How much extra money should I bring? |
| |
A:
We think that if you are careful with your cash and eat
reasonable meals, $15 to $20 US$ per day for
restaurants will be more than adequate. You can also use our coolers to store food
that you buy on the way to save money.
Since
most activities and expenses are included in the price
of you trip, you should have enough extra for lunch and
dinner, personal expenses and border crossings if you
have any. The rest in on us.
We
recommend that an extra $400 US$ should be enough for a
14 day vacation.

Q:
What
currency should I bring? What about Bank Card?
|
| |
A:
American cash ! Once we get on the road and out
of the common tourist areas , US dollars rule. The
same applies for travelers checks.
Bank
card or "ATM" Are an excellent option. You will
be able to withdraw in local currency in most paces we
go. Be sure to bring US dollars in case of an emergency.
Its a good idea to bring $200-$300 in travelers cheques.
Credit cards also offer great security everywhere you go.
A GOLD credit card usually protects the holder in case of
accident, emergency or pretty much anything that can happen.
The insurance on a GOLD card is free for the first 30
days of your trip. Contact your local bank for details.
Another
great option is to put extra money on your credit card
so it can be to used as a debit card. In this way, with
drawing money should not have any cost to you compared to
the fee associated with
your bank card.

Q:
What
is the average age required to join your groups?
|
| |
A: As a general rule our clients are between 20 and 55 years of age, in fair
physical shape and open to adventure. We do not
have an age limit an we do not like to generalize.
We have had all sorts of groups in that past and
it all comes down to how young you are the inside.
We
offer the kinds of trips made for different types of persons
because we do not require
you to stay and do activities with the rest of the group if
you do not want to. We like to encourage people to go
and venture off by themselves and do the activities that interests
you, not the group. If you do not like the rest
of the crowd, the only time you will HAVE to spend
with them is in the minibus.

Q:
Is there
danger in the areas you travel? |
| |
A: To this date nothing
has ever happened to us or anyone traveling with us. In
some areas we take strong safety measures. For example:
In Guatemala we never travel during the night and never
to unknown areas if we do not feel safe about it.
Lots of places have a reputation from years back and and
no longer present a real danger to travelers. Chiapas,
Mexico is very safe as well as most of Guatemala.

Q:
I'm afraid to travel alone, is this the right trip for
me? |
| |
A: Yes it is, most of the time it's
a great opportunity to meet people with common interests
and to travel or adventure in an exotic local. However you
do not have to stick with the group if you do not
want to and the group does not have to stick with you.
This is an adventure trip and you must be at least a little
independent to join us.

Q: Do
you accept children and will they enjoy? |
| |
A:
Children are more then welcome, they usually adapt well
to culture changes and sometimes more then adults.
All the children we have had along enjoyed the trip as much as their
parents.
There are children everywhere we go (or other creatures)
that will interest and occupy the young ones. Children
under 12 pay half price if accompanied by two adults.

Q: What
are my guaranties that you really exist and that this is
not a bogus internet company? Do we have to pay all
in advance ? And what are my guaranties?
|
| |
A:
Many fear being ripped off during internet purchases,
we understand this reality and try to make ourselves transparent
to our customers. We are well known in the areas
we visit and we invite you to consult with your travel agent and
ask him for references. If you still feel insecure
about the whole thing you do not have to pay all at once
to make your reservation. You need only pay a $200
US deposit to secure your place on the Funky Van.
The rest should be paid upon arrival in Mexico at the
beginning of the trip.
You can also read others
customers reviews about Funky Tours and even contact them
if you want to. Each review is published in the
clients handwriting and in his or her language.

What kind
of tour is this Funky thing? |
| |
A:
We offer comfortable cultural tours designed for the open
minded person. The idea is to travel together in small
groups in a comfortable but low profile minivan. |
| |
 |
| |
The hotels we choose are very comfortable, most with
a private bath where available, and always situated
in a key location of the trip. |
| |
 |
| |
We
like to include archeological sites, local villages, indigenous
communities and great landscapes in our adventures, however
the key element is your open mind and a desire to live new
experiences and emotions. We
are never bound to our schedules and most of the time
rearrange them to fit your interests. We all decide
together if changes are to be made, flexibility is the
most important aspect of our tours. An open mind means a
flexible mind, and we do that well.
If you expect a regular
guided bus tour this is not the thing for you...
We offer and independent way to travel safely inside a
small group of travelers, NOT TOURISTS! |
